Our womens first game of the season
Match summary: HB - ÍF, 1. division women.
At last the season has started. Our women were excited and ready to get going on this first matchday.
A couple of players were missing - for instance our captain, Mary-Ann Zachariassen, who was at Anfield for at trial with her son.
We met a strong team in HB who have been winners of the division for the past two years.
The start of the match was a bit slow but as the minutes were ticking we started to get the grip of the game.
In the 13th minute Jenny P. wins the ball from an opponent. She runs away and puts up the pace. With a fine pass between two opponent players the ball finds Heidi, who puts it in the goal, and we're up with a goal! As they say - a goal by the book.
For the of the first half we're in control, and could easily have had our second goal.
The halftime score was 0-1.
Unfortunately HB equalize with a goal after corner a couple of minutes into the second half.
The rest of the game both teams have a couple of chances.
The feeling after the game was that we should have taken our chances and won the game, but now we are looking forward for the next game.
First eleven: Olga, Karin, Marta, Sigrid, Jónfríð, Marna, Glæma, Kristina, Erla, Jenny P., and Heidi.
Substitutes: Birita, Jenny L., and Anna Maria.
