Good result against FC Hoyvík
On Sunday, we faced FC Hoyvík. The weather was very good, and a large number of spectators had gathered at Fløtugerð to watch the match.

We were missing some of our players, so there had to be some changes in the lineup.

The lineup was as follows:

Anna Antoniussen - Jónfríð, Annika, Mirjam, Gunnrið - Marna, Glæma, Mary-Ann, Erla, Jenny - Kristina.

Substitutes: Heidi, Birita, and Karin.

We started the match well and put high pressure from the start. It paid off early in the game. In the 3rd minute, Jenny won the ball from FC Hoyvík's defense and passed it to Kristina, who put the ball into the net. It was 1-0 for us.
In the 4th minute, something happened that shouldn't have. We lost the ball in midfield, Glæma won it back, but after a skirmish and retaliation from both sides, Glæma received a red card, and we played the rest of the match with 10 players against 11. Some thought it should have been a red card for both sides, but the decision was made and it was final.
But we didn't let that discourage us. Despite being one player short, we had the upper hand and created several big goal-scoring opportunities, but the opponent's goalkeeper stood firm and made several good saves.
16 minutes had passed. Marna had the ball on the side and made her way past several players. She cut inside towards the 16-meter box and was fouled. The referee awarded a free kick. Annika stepped up to take the shot and scored, making it 2-0 for ÍF.
As the first half was nearing its end, Marna won the ball on the left side, dribbled past two defenders, and then crossed it to Jenny, who skillfully beat one player and placed the ball low into the left side. The score was now 3-0.
There were 10 minutes left in the first half. We had a free kick on the left side. Erla crossed the ball, and Jenny was ready at the back post to score, making it 4-0, which also became the halftime score.

Second half. FC Hoyvík made some changes during halftime. They brought on two forwards and adopted a more offensive approach compared to the first half. We tried to play and create some good scoring opportunities, but our play didn't flow as smoothly as in the first half. Nevertheless, we remained strong on the field and kept the opposing team away from our goal.
Although FC Hoyvík had more presence in the second half and had some shots towards our goal, we had more possession and were controlling the game. Ten minutes into the second half, Jenny won the ball from the opposing team after a goal kick. She found Kristina, who hit a beautiful shot from 25 meters out, making it 5-0 for us. An outstanding goal.
Five minutes later, Kristina struck again. We had a corner on the right side. Mary-Ann delivered a good cross into the box, and Kristina headed it in, extending our lead to 6-0 and completing her hat-trick.
In the 63rd minute, Gunnrið played a great through ball to Jenny on the right side. Jenny skillfully bypassed two defenders and put the ball into the net, making it 7-0 and also completing her hat-trick.
In the 65th minute, FC Hoyvík reduced the deficit to 7-1, which was the final result.

Overall, it was a good and well-played match with many good plays and combinations. Considering that we played the majority of the game with 10 players against 11, it was definitely a commendable performance. We didn't give up, played sensibly, defended well, moved the ball effectively on the field, and stood together as a team.

Our next match, which is also the last before the summer break, will be against HB at Fløtugerð on Sunday, June 25th.
